Forage & Livestock Program Manager
Fito was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico. He is the youngest of two children and was raised on a traditional Mexican ranch operation and has been surrounded by horses, cows and all kinds of animals his entire life. After graduating from a Bachelor of Science with an Animal Production Systems Major in 2001 from Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, he spent three years in Central and North Mexico as an Animal Husbandry Technician.
In 2004 he moved to Alberta with his wife Patty and two kids Laly and Fito Jr. Later they became parents to their youngest daughter, Terra.
Fito’s experience includes working at a dairy operation near Stettler, AB, managing a feedlot in Central Alberta, and working at a purebred corporate ranch near the Southern AB border performing reproduction projects and other ranch duties. In 2011 Fito took a roll as Operations Manager on the East Coast (P.E.I.) at a feed mill/livestock nutrition company prior to joining WCFA in 2012.
Fito and his family like to spend time together hiking, riding, traveling and fishing.
